I'm going to start this review by pointing out that AlohaFunWear is not paying me for this review - in fact, they have no idea I'm even writing it. I was looking for a Hawaiian shirt that looked laid-back - and most importantly - was a light color since I already had plenty of dark colored Hawaiian shirts. Is AlohaFunWear legitimate?
Is AlohaFunWear legit? I had never shopped there before. First, I looked to see their contact details. Their mailing address is actually in Hawaii, so that was encouraging. They also had a customer service number, so that also seemed genuine - never shop somewhere that doesn't give a customer service number. I also did a few other checks, and according to all my research it looked like the real deal. But you never really know for sure until you shop there. So I took the plunge and ordered the Hawaiian shirt I wanted.
At checkout I paid via PayPal - I was really pleased to see they offer PayPal payments. If a vendor offers that, it's a good sign, even if you plan on paying with a different method. AlohaFunWear accepts many payment methods, including credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and more. Allowing PayPal payments is a good sign, because PayPal has a lot of rules for store owners and they will drop any store owner quickly who doesn't abide by the rules.
All of this so far pointed to AlohaFunWear as being a reliable and ethical vendor of Hawaiian fashion.
Shipping cost and time
At the time of writing this article, shipping was free to anywhere in the U.S.
Although they do ship internationally, there is a shipping fee for international deliveries which is calculated at checkout.
I'm located in the contiguous U.S. states, which is a long way across the globe from Hawaii. How long would this shirt take to arrive, I wondered? I'm not located near a shipping port, so I was fully prepared to settle in for a long wait. To my happy surprise, it arrived really fast! The timing was on par with something shipped from another state in the contiguous U.S.
The shirt arrived nicely packaged and I could tell it hadn't been sitting out on a rack in the store gathering dust, it was safely protected in plastic (see image below).
Upon opening the package, I could see that the shirt was good quality. There were no problems laundering it, everything still looked good after.

Besides men's wear, you can also get women's and children's wear at AlohaFunWear. There are Hawaiian dresses for women and girls, and there are also boy's Hawaiian shirt and short sets.
