Yes, it is certainly possible to buy a single MP3 track or song on Amazon.com without having to buy the whole album. Amazon doesn't make it very clear how to do this, in fact they make it all too easy to accidentally buy an entire album when you had intended just to buy single songs, causing you to spend extra money. To start, log into Amazon.com on your computer. On the Amazon search bar, set the category to "Digital Music", as shown circled in red in the screenshot below, and type in what music or track you're searching for.

Once you click on your desired album, it will take you to Amazon's music department where the background is dark, so don't worry about the sudden change of background. Your screen will now look something like this:

Instead look at the individual track you want and click on the 3 dots at the right of it, as shown in the image below:
When you click those 3 dots, the option to buy just the one MP3 song will come up, like this:
